It’s Christmas time folks! We are very much in the spirit of the holiday here at Breakfast On Tour. I found a few videos this week that had me feeling rather festive. Take a look at some of my favorite YouTube Christmas videos.

Sufjan Stevens – Put The Lights On The Tree

Sufjan brings his soft melodic approach to this self-penned carol. The animation is a fun attachment.

John Lennon – Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

This early seventies pro-peace song is accompanied by a very hard-hitting video that shows the troubles of war first hand. This anthem still holds true 35+ years later.

Band Aid – Do They Know It’s Christmas

Sorry, but I had to do it. This song is as cheesy as it comes. It screams 80’s. On the other hand there are some moments that shine, and also some very notable musicians in attendance. Paul McCartney, Sting, Phil Collins, Bono and many other English rockers participated in this Bob Geldof (Boomtown Rats) organized event. The hair in this video alone is worth the watch.

Dave Matthews Band – Christmas Song

Dave Matthews performing one of my favorite songs that he has written. This version was released on their Live In Chicago 2-disc set.

Jim James – The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late)

Here we have My Morning Jacket’s frontman performing possibly the best Christmas song ever written.
