Lollapalooza 2008 in Videos
We did not make it up north this weekend to catch Lollapalooza, but I at least had the chance to see a bit of Wilco's streaming set at the AT&T Blueroom. Their energy alone showed just how much fun Chicago was having. Now that it is all said and done, after hometown MC Kanye West and industrial rock giants Nine Inch Nails closed down both of the main stages, I pulled together a host of videos that would make any music lover jealous of those in attendance.

With their consistently amazing line-ups that feature both quality headliners and up-and-coming buzz bands, Lollapalooza has quickly become one of the main contenders for best American music festival. For me the only thing that makes festivals like Bonnaroo and Rothbury better is the sense of community that evolves over the course of the weekend due to on-site camping. I have been to major city festivals (ACL, Voodoo), and love the added attraction of a downtown late-night scene, but the ability to walk back to your "home" after a headliner, refresh, and head back to the late-night events on the other end of a field is something else.

Oh wow! Thanks for the videos. Sad I missed that GT surfing. He did it early in the set, but I left several songs in. That's the best crowd surf I've ever seen. Ever.
Thanks for aggregating.

That Girl Talk vid made me more than excited for his show at Warehouse Live here in Houston in the fall! Can't wait!
