About Grits

I moved to Austin in 2005 to attend the University of Texas. After a semester of wasting my time and my parents money, I moved home to Dallas to pursue music. I wound up working for a health talk show to make ends meet and I've worked there since, going from full time to part time back to full-time and spending the rest of my time playing guitar for beer money. I've traveled with a few bands and held down numerous steady gigs in the DFW area. I currently write for the same show, help manage the show's website, write for their blog, and take as many gigs as time allows (I'm holding out for Rusty Anderson to offer me the Paul McCartney gig. . . ). I enjoy Scotch (Laphroiag), expensive food, and music made before 1979 with the exception of a few bands from the 90s.
