In five years, which band will be headlining major U.S. music festivals?

Animal Collective covering(?) Panda Bear at Coachella

I am currently obsessed with Animal Collective, as well as the side project from band member Panda Bear. Check out why:

Animal Collective - Comfy in Nautica

I have watched quite a few videos from Coachella, and this was definitely the one that made me most jealous of those Californian festival goers. This event is definitely on my must-attend list, if only for its mind-blowing line-ups; Prince, Roger Waters, My Morning Jacket, Animal Collective, The National, Hot Chip, Islands, Stars... Need I say more?

Anybody make it to Coachella this year? How was it?

Willie and Snoop in Amsterdam

Two of the World's biggest heads in the headiest place of them all.

Willie Nelson ft. Snoop Dogg - Superman

This is brilliant, but It would have been more poignant to post on the site 9 days ago...

Justice, Devotchka, Band Of Horses, TV on the Radio set for Monolith Festival

The initial line-up for this years Monolith Festival was released today. It features local favorites Devotchka headlining Saturday, September 13, and Parisian electro-geniuses Justice closing the festival on Sunday, September 14. The second annual event is set to take place at the unbelievably gorgeous Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver, CO. Also featured on the bill are recent blog darlings Vampire Weekend, Seattle's Band Of Horses, hip-hop hipster Del Tha Funkee Homosapien, soul-songstress Sharon Jones and her Dap Kings, and iPod Touch-commercial stars CSS.

NIN, R.E.M., STP set for Voodoo!

The Voodoo Music Experience announced today that 90's rock icons Nine Inch Nails and R.E.M. as well as the recently reunited Stone Temple Pilots are set to headline this year's event. The 2008 edition, taking place October 24-26 in New Orleans' City Park, marks the tenth-ever "Ritual". Staying true to past years, several local bands will be featured at the three-day Halloween-weekend event, including the Neville Brothers first ever appearance.

Voodoo, as you may or may not already know, is where this little blog was all dreamt up. We decided to dress our group up as breakfast, and from there it was on.

Anyway, on to the festival details...

Yeasayer, Man Man @ Slowdown in Omaha, NE, 4/19/08

Yet another night spent in Omaha at the Slowdown on April 19th, 2008. The night was sure to be an interesting one with some experimental rock provided by Yeasayer out of Brooklyn, NY. Following them was Man Man, who could only add to the madness with their gypsy styled grooves out of Philadelphia, PA. I have had the chance to check out both of their studio releases, particularly Man Man, as they have been on the scene for some time. After knowing what both of these acts were all about, I thought that it would be interesting to see them live. The complexity of each of these acts seemed as if it would be a great one two punch.

Houston Press Music Awards 2008 - Nominations Open

The Houston Press just opened up the ballot box for their 2008 Music Awards. I'll spare you the play-by-play, but I will say that Eggs and I gave a lot of love to Buxton, The Wild Moccasins and several former members of Vibe Committee. Go get your nomination on!

She & Him with Yo La Tengo - Why Do You Let Me Stay Here?

You would think that being as cute as she is with such a great voice (and backing band, may I add...) that she would be a little less shy. Oh well, this is still an amazing performance!

So, do I smell a tour?
