Ume, Lymbyc Systym and The Sour Notes @ The Mink/Backroom
Submitted by cereal on Thu, 05/29/2008 - 01:41.On Saturday, May 24, I was ordered by the evil BOThead overlord Eggs (kidding (kinda)) to cover the Ume/Lymbyc Systym/The Sour Notes show at The Mink/Backroom in Houston. I had just settled in to enjoy a slothful holiday weekend, and was not exactly pleased at the prospect of braving the rabid humidity to take pictures and jot down notes in a poorly lit venue, but I went nonetheless - and I'm quite glad that I did.

Rilo Kiley @ Slowdown
Submitted by toast on Tue, 05/27/2008 - 16:30.A friend of mine introduced me to Rilo Kiley about a year or so ago, throughout several “sessions”. This friend seemed to have a very similar musical taste as I, and therefore was always open to suggestion. At the time, I enjoyed the sound and have since added a couple of their studio acts to my eternally growing collection. So, with little hesitation, when they announced a two show run in Omaha, I quickly jumped on it and purchased a pair for each night. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the second night, but then again was able to spread the wealth to my buddy who tuned me into Rilo Kiley, as he was without tickets to either of the sold out shows.

Out of these choices, what is the best (worst?) metal band name?
Submitted by breakfast on tour on Tue, 05/27/2008 - 01:00.Bang Camaro @ Fitzgerald's
Submitted by eggs on Mon, 05/26/2008 - 21:08.Tuesday, May 20th brought two choices to the Houston Breakfast On Tour crew: either get some free Jack Daniels and music from Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at Warehouse Live, or hit up Fitz's for some 80's hair-metal from Bang Camaro. After a bad showing from BRMC at Voodoo last year, we decided to take up the second choice and see what Bang Camaro had to offer.

Weezer - Pork And Beans
Submitted by eggs on Fri, 05/23/2008 - 18:17.I have tried my best not to listen to any of the new Weezer songs that have been making their way across the blogosphere. Actually, come to think of it, the first and only track I have heard from The Red Album was this one just now when I watched the video. After hearing "Pork and Beans", I am more than excited for the rest of their new material. Take a moment to watch the video below which features quite an impressive supporting cast of YouTube's Allstars.
I kinda want to hear Tay Zonday's cover of this song, but then again, no I don't. Keep 'em coming Weezer!
Radiohead @ Superpages.com Center

Recap and videos after the jump

Band Of Horses - No One's Gonna Love You
Submitted by eggs on Thu, 05/22/2008 - 16:45.Band Of Horses became my most anticipated band to see after I checked Radiohead off the list last weekend. ACL needs to hurry up and get here damnit!
This is their new video for "No One's Gonna Love You", my second favorite song off of Cease To Begin (I could SLEEEP, I could SLEEEeep, when I lived alone, is there a ghost in my house...).
It's quite an odd video with all the bottle breaking, but what the hell, right?
