Coldplay - Viva La Vida

Chris Martin and the boys of Coldplay are back with a new album, Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends. Besides making their title extra-long they also have some exciting new things going on. You might ask yourself, what new things are Eggs talking about? The first new addition is help from a relatively unknown producer (Brian Eno) that hasn't really worked with any large acts (U2, Talking Heads, David Bowie). Second, they are sporting get-ups that look to be inspired by the revolutionary war. Come to think of it, those are about the only changes, everything else is pretty much the same. The two new songs that we've all heard by now are quite good, so I am sure that the rest of this Eno-fied album will be well worth the ten dollar iTunes charge.

Coldplay performed "Viva La Vida" for the first time live at the MTV Movie Awards last night which was hosted by Canadian funny-man Mike Myers. The 2-hour show also featured the long-awaited return (at least by me) of Wayne's World with Myers (Wayne) and Dana Carvey (Garth) after a fourteen-year hiatus. Another highlight was a musical performance by Adam Sandler who, after being nick-named The Sandman by Tom Cruise, showed off his guitar chops while singing about being better than everyone else. Check out Coldplay's performance here:

This makes me even more excited for the June 17 release of Viva La Vida or Death And All Of Its Friends. I hope it lives up to everybody's expectations.

On a completely different note, a question came up while watching television tonight: Are Jack White and Johnny Depp the same person?
