After attempting the lottery and numerous attempts online and via phone I was unable to get any tickets for the reunion show. However it seems that if you are a greedy prick of a ticket scalper otherwise known as a broker, you could get as many tickets in advance as you wanted and then are allowed to sell them at 5 times their face value w/o any repercussions. It's a pretty sad state of affairs as the root cause of the reason our economy along with rest of worlds is in the crapper is greed on Wallstreet and in Washington. This is no different. These people selling these tickets probably don't even know who Phish are and we as a community are lining their pockets at will. I have been a Phan since the early 90's and feel cheated that my loyalty to Phish can't even get me one ticket for one night.

I was able to get 6 tickets (two per night) and signed up for the lottery about 2 hours before it was due. Did I get lucky? Hell yeah! But I have been a phish fan for years and am looking forward to the 3 shows. There are hundreds of thousands of people who want to go to this show, its inevitable people are going to get pissed about not getting tickets.

I was a lucky one with the lottery. However, in early summer they are doing a northeast tour, then playing bonaroo (as crappy as that may be), and then in late june are doing a 2 week west coast thing. Hopefully that eases some peoples ire about not getting tics.

Why the crap would they play Bonnaroo? People keep saying that, and I think it's a load of bs.

I had my clock watching the seconds leading up to 9:00 CST. As soon as I saw it strike the top of the hour, I had Ticketmaster refreshed and working. Unfortunately, that wonderful "error" that many of us experianced started to be noticed. As soon as it took over a minute to load the next page I knew I was royally phucked.

Jump forward to 9:04 Central Time. At this point ticketmaster made it obvious the show was sold out, but had no problem recommending that I pay the brokers on the partner site mucho dinero. It really put a negative vibe to such a beautifully gloomy day.

I still plan on being there, not to mention the rest of the TBA tour.

Hey "lucky one"! So happy for you that you got tix! My wife and I weren't so lucky but its all good...we had six friends all together with six laptops and six phones... and all got denied. I heard that they (Ticketmaster) only gave out 5% of the tickets to the public. If you got denied, it said buy now at ticketsnow.com which is owned by Ticketmaster...conspiracy? I don't mind if Phish gets a cut but I hope that Ticketmaster isn't getting the bigger portion of the profit. Look at Pearl Jam back in the day when they gave up on Ticketmaster and started Brown paper bag tickets and wanted everyone to have a fair share in getting tickets for the concerts. Do you think that Phish was working with Ticketmaster to make more money because they don't want the younger crowd (that is in the same age bracket as their children) to get caught up in the typical partying scene? It all really should be about the love of the music, not the "extracurricular events" that go on within it.
It's unfortunate that some "fans" go to shows and don't know any of the music as lovers of Phish. And also its sad seeing those who go to the shows for those "other experiences" that don't coincide with the meaning of Phish or their music.

Had the same experience, but ended up getting the tix. Here in Philly they use LiveNation, which should be called JiveNation b/c their infrastructure SUKCS ASS! It is completely unreasonable that between the several people that were trying with me no one could get any tickets for the hampton shows or the summer tour (ny or nj). There was a convergence of a lot of factors that made this experience my worst (failure of) ticket purchasing experience ever.

While this isn't the most important factor, I'm listing it first because it is under Phish's control. Why would you offer a 3 night package to a set of shows you know is going to sell out in 7 seconds? Every person that got 3 nights prevented 2 people from getting any. I'm very happy for the people that got 3 nights and tried to get them myself, but it shouldn't have been an option. Phish tickets by mail is supposed to be Phish looking out for its fans, so it's even worse that it offered the 3 night package, in effect, as well. There is no reason that anyone should have gotten multiple night orders filled until every single person had a single night filled.

Scalping has really reached a new level recently with sites like stubhub and ticketsnow. There really is no justification to allow these sites to exist unless they prevent price mark ups. Scalping is illegal at the venue and it should be illegal on the internet.

To save a few bucks, Live Nation decided to take on an amount of net traffic they had to know they had no business trying to handle.

I was able to get tix to the Camden and Jones beach shows about 1hr 45m after the onsale time. For the first 90min I experienced what a lot of other people did: Server time-outs, pages not loading during all steps (seat selection, captchas, shopping cart, etc.) What finally got me through was creating a LiveNation account first and ensuring I was logged in to it, then going through the select tickets process. I have a feeling people were having their orders invalidated, because there were different sets of tickets available every time I was able to get to the seat selection page. So don't give up until LiveNation completely closes the ticketing for each show!
