On The Road With... The Sour Notes: Austin & Houston

The Sour Notes are already a few days into their tour, with successful performances in Austin and Houston. For some reason, they've taken on a second responsibility, and humbly agreed to send in tour diaries, photos and videos of their time both on the road and off. They've brought videographer and photographer Eric Morales on the road to document their second tour, who has already provided some excellent footage from their stop at Rice University's KTRU Radio earlier before their Houston performance. Drummer Travis Hackett took the first stab at writing, providing commentary on their New Year's Eve performance in Austin at The Ghost Room. Frontman Jared Boulanger gave us the second round of words about their CD Release show in Houston at Rudyard's Pub just down the street from BOT headquarters. We played a few stripped down versions of songs from our new album and something new, never performed before live. Wes and Amy from Some Magazine Houston also met up with us and shot some material for a feauture they'll be doing on us in the future. Thanks you two!!! So last night was our Austin CD release party at The Ghost Room, (which btw we came dangerously close to missing, having retrieved the van from the shop 1 hr before the show, oops). Great crowd, awesome bands, and experimental projections behind us, rahhhh!!! Thanks for spending the end of the year with us, there were fun times had by all. Mermaid Blonde, No Mas Bodas, and of course, The Weird Weeds all put on great shows, and the New Years Eve themed booth by photog Katie Jones was a real treat. Thanks again Austin for coming out and seeing us off, cant wait to see you when we get back so we can celebrate the release of our album right: IT'S NOT GONNA BE PRETTY. On to two thousand and ten, or is it twenty ten?
