New Apollo Sunshine Video - "Money"

Andover, MA-based psychedelic folk collective Apollo Sunshine recently released a scrilla-tastic video for "Money," a song from their newest studio effort, Shall Noise Upon. What with the state of the economy today, the song's message and the images presented in the video are timely and compelling. The video, which was directed by Max Koepke, begins with shots of ancient currency and proceeds through other money-focused scenes – people counting money, people passing money, people just loving money in general – before transitioning into what looks like it could be a dough-themed episode of Schoolhouse Rocks. The mugs of various politicians then flash across the screen, and the video appropriately ends with images of Wall Street suits looking decidedly unhappy. "Isn't it funny how much we all love money?"

Buy This Album: Apollo Sunshine - Shall Noise Upon

Starting today, we're going to let you in on which albums we're digging each week. Every Tuesday, your local record dealer or online retailer stocks their stores with a bounty of brand new music, fresh to most people's ears. Amongst these releases, one generally shines brightest.

This week features new releases from several newcomers and also one for nostalgic purposes (I guess?), but our most anticipated album comes from one of BOT's recent favorites, Apollo Sunshine. Their latest, Shall Noise Upon, is a genre-bending album that shifts from indie-folk to straight funk to calypso in a matter of minutes. We had the chance to see Apollo Sunshine for the first time this summer, and as you might have read in a prior post, their performance turned out to be one of our favorites of the year. So, as the title of this blog suggests, drop what you're doing and buy this album!

It featured many highs and lows, but it all culminated into another unique festival experience for the BOT crew consisting of Toast and Eggs.
