Austin City Limits Music Festival 2008 - Saturday in Review
Submitted by breakfast on tour on Fri, 10/03/2008 - 15:40.After a great night's rest, we were at it again. Saturday, September 27th at the Austin City Limits Music Festival featured a slew of acts that we had never experienced live before, and also a few favorites that always provide a good time. Fleet Foxes, The Fratellis, Bavu Blakes, Jose Gonzalez, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings, CSS, Man Man, Erykah Badu, Spiritualized, John Fogerty, Yonder Mountain String Band, Robert Plant & Alison Krauss, and Beck all played a part in providing the soundtrack for our day's events. Later that night, we found ourselves on Austin's famed 6th Street jumping from Man Man's aftershow at Emo's Outdoor to the Parish Room for our most highly anticipated set of the weekend, the Band Of Horses 'secret' show.

Band of Horses to play 'secret' ACL aftershow at the Parish Room
Submitted by cereal on Fri, 09/19/2008 - 10:33.
Rumors have been flying over the past few days about a purported secret Band of Horses Austin City Limits Music Festival aftershow. Sixth Street venue The Parish Room officially announced the show yesterday, so it's not exactly a secret anymore. And it's also not exactly a secret that we are ecstatic about this unexpected development - The Parish Room is a pretty small space, so this is sure to be an intimate/incredible experience. Fuck yeah!
Anyway, tickets went on sale at 10am today; they're $18 in advance, and $21 at the door. I wouldn't bank on getting them at the door, though - this show is guaranteed to sell out. Get 'em online here.
Opening for Band of Horses will be fellow ACL performers James McMurtry and the Heartless Bastards. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide access to affordable healthcare for Austin’s low-income, uninsured working musicians.
UPDATE: Looks like tickets have already sold out online. Not sure yet if any tickets have been reserved for sale at the door - will update if we receive any more information.

Austin City Limits is only three weeks away, and with the closeness of the festival, more and more information continues to come forth about different activities that are set to take place. Austin mainstay Waterloo Records, which is in charge of selling CD's during the three day event, recently released the autograph signing schedule for this year's festival. Taking place inside ACL's gates, this year's participants include Hot Chip, Spiritualized, MGMT, Blues Traveler, Vampire Weekend, Xavier Rudd, Okkervil River and many more. Most large-scale music festivals offer this extra, which is a terrific way to get up close and personal with many of your favorite bands and artists. So if you have the chance in between jumping from stage to stage, make your way over to the Waterloo tent and say hi to the host of amazing musicians they have lined up for us.

ACL Schedule Announced!
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 06/04/2008 - 16:51.Yesterday, the Austin City Limits Music Festival released the schedule in grid form for this years event. The 2008 edition of the festival is being headlined by The Foo Fighters, Robert Plant & Allison Krauss, and Beck among others. With the schedule out a good three-and-a-half months before the start of the festival, It gives attendees plenty of time to plan their route of attack. Many conflicts are already standing out for me including N.E.R.D. vs. David Byrne on Friday, September 26th, Beck vs. Robert Plant & Allison Krauss on Saturday the 27th, and The Raconteurs vs. Gnarls Barkley on Sunday the 28th. There are plenty more conflicts on top of those, but when you enjoy and care about music as much as we do, you're bound to have these problems at music festivals.

ACL Fest Artist Announcement Coming Soon...
Submitted by eggs on Thu, 03/27/2008 - 06:00.
According to Austin City Limits Music Festival's official website, the line-up will be released in the early part of April (Austin 360 says the official date is Tuesday, April 15th). This year will mark the 7th edition of the festival, taking place September 26-28 at Austin's Zilker Park. As always, anticipation of who will be gracing this years line-up is starting to build. Several different blogs and forums are starting to get busy with chatter about which bands are confirmed to play, rumored, or just pain wished for. If half of the rumors come true, I will be a happy man.
Here is a list of rumored artists to tide you over until the actual line-up is released:
