Rattletree Marimba @ Last Concert Cafe
Submitted by cereal on Wed, 07/23/2008 - 00:33.Saturday, July 19th was BOT's first real day back in the live music swing of things after the end of the gloriousness of the Rothbury Festival. What better way to ease back into everyday life than with a relaxing night filled with world-beat music at hippie-friendly, hula hoops-and-sand venue Last Concert Cafe? Before the night was over, we'd journeyed to Zimbabwe with Rattletree Marimba and Indonesia with Space City Gamelan, and we were finally able to shake off our post-festival back-to-the-real-world funk.

South Austin Jug Band @ Last Concert Cafe
Submitted by cereal on Wed, 07/02/2008 - 01:24.Friday, June 27 found Eggs and me at one of our favorite Houston venues, Last Concert Cafe. South Austin Jug Band - Jack-Ass
Submitted by eggs on Mon, 06/02/2008 - 01:19.While nobody can touch the original version of "Jack-Ass" by Beck, our hill-country friends South Austin Jug Band sure do a good job with it. Check it out:
Gotta love this delicious cover!
South Austin Jug Band will be making the journey up to Kansas this weekend to play at Wakarusa (we will have a full report from Waka next week!), and will also be stopping by our favorite Houston venue, Last Concert Cafe, next month. I am not sure if I will be at the festival in time to see them, but the Houston show is definitely in our plans. They are supposed to put on one hell of a show!
Spoonfed Tribe @ Last Concert Cafe
Submitted by eggs on Wed, 05/21/2008 - 01:30.Saturday, May 17th brought Spoonfed Tribe to town on a night when Radiohead dominated Houston's live show-going market. We had a wedding to attend (and thankfully tickets to Radiohead's Dallas show) so a late night journey to Last Concert Cafe was our next best option. We had a long day, so my review is going to consist of this short sentence: Dallas' Spoonfed Tribe brought out their jammier side during a percussion-heavy set of tribal rhythms and psychedelic rock. We did take a bunch of pictures though...
